Speyside Smokehouse Salmon Jerky Logo
On deciding it was the right time to move into the salmon jerky category, Meatsnacks asked us to create a distinctive logo and packaging design to reflect their brand ethics and image. The location of the business on the banks of the River Spey in the Scottish Highlands meant an upmarket Scottish feel without the obvious clichés. We devised a roundel device using a deeper version of the Scottish flag blue contrasting with silver to represent the scales on the fish (metallic on the packaging) and a calligraphic illustration of a Salmon in the style of the Scottish Thistle feel. We took a few cues from Whiskey designs and Scottish cultural heritage emblems to assist us in creating a very strong, clean and memorable device for all aspects of their branding repertoire.
Haywood & Padgett Logo
I first had the job of cleaning up the original company logo back in the 90's when I first started working for H&P. Although the changes were subtle back then! With this in mind we updated the logo in a big way recently, in that every element has been redesigned from typeface to illustration - and all without affecting the recognition and heritage of the brand in any way. The previous typeface was an 'inline' font and proved difficult to read and print at small sizes and the illustration of the founders also became compromised and looked messy in some situations. A cleaner 'positive' font was used to replace the 'inline' version and a whole new illustration of the founders was created from scratch, which is much cleaner and easier to print. We always recommend subtly updating and tweaking a logo over time to make sure its doing its job in all aspects - at the end of the day the logo is representative of your brand and if it looks shabby then thats how your business may be percieved!
Practices Made Perfect Logo
On the back of the success of 'Perfect 32' Nicki Rowland asked us to create a new logo for her new consultancy business. The logo needed to reflect the professional expertise of her skills with a subtle 'nod' to Perfect 32 with the use of the square device and using a similar turquoise colour.
Fountain Frozen - 'Field to Fork' Logo
We created the 'Field to Fork' logo first as a separate exercise for use in their frozen veg ranges and it wasn't till some time later that they used it to brand these parsnips. The design brief was to create a strong design that pushed the honey glazed aspect of the product strongly.

Innovatek Medical Logo Design
The MD of Innovatek Medical came to Magic Fox Design for assistance with his logo design. Although he had already settled on a font for his name, the logo itself was lacking imagination and that 'extra magic'. We created a range of around 25-50 concepts using the chosen typeface for Paul to choose from and a chosen design was worked up further with colour choices and variations. These were then narrowed down further until an ultimate design was agreed and this was then worked up on all 3 divisions of the company with a single colour change in each case. The end result summed up the core values of the company perfectly and represented Innovatek in a manner that suited the high-end pharmaceuticals industry it served.

Walkington Ladies Social Group
The local Walkington Ladies Social Group approached us with creating a new identity for them after recent changes to how they could be known meant they could no longer be known as 'Walkington Country Womens Group'. We devised a logo based on a combination of the village identity which is a 'cart wheel' and the white rose of Yorkshire. We then used simplified illustrations of women to form a circular 'wheel device' to represent the 'feel' of the social group with the ladies skirts forming the petals of the Yorkshire rose. The combination of these elements along with the overall simplicity and use of restrained colour palette was was a real hit with the group.
